Travel companies that specialize in the Croatian market – Ascent Travel, PAKS - pointed out that the situation with flights to Croatia is not clear yet. The increase of traffic volume is forecasted at around 200-300 tickets per week comparing to last year. This season Transaero, VIM-avia, Sibir Airlines, KD-Avia and Atlant-Soyuz will realize flights to Croatia by Boeings 747, 757, 767 и 737 and IL-86. ‘However, the plans are still negotiated with airlines due to a cyclic demand. Therefore, in order to meet the demand we will have to either change aircraft or launch additional flights’, stated Lyudmila Vtorova, the Head of Croatia Department of CAPITAL TOUR.
Travel market players consider the extension of programs to the Middle Dalmatia to be the peculiar trend of the coming season. For example, Ascent Travel plan to launch a charter program to Zadar – the city that is not popular with Russia tourists at the moment. However, experts do not express much enthusiasm towards such an initiative preferring to focus on traditional Croatian destinations.
